Prof. Boccaccini gab eine Vorlesung zum Thema: „Interactions between biomaterials and the biological environment: the materials side“ auf dem 41. Jahreskongress der Deutschen Gesellschaft für Thorax-, Gefäß- und Herzchirurgie, die in Freiburg vom 12.-15. Februar 2012 stattfand. Er sprach auf dem Symposium: „From Foreign Body to Infection“.
