Improvement of antibacterial and antioxidant activity of polycaprolactone films and electrospun fibers by incorporating dual-phytotherapeutic agents for wound healing applications

Betreuer: Irem Unalan, Prof. Aldo R. Boccaccini

This project aims to improve the antibacterial and antioxidant activity of polycaprolactone fabricated in film and electrospun fiber forms. In this regard, phytotherapeutic agents are used, which are known for their antibacterial and antioxidant properties, following a technology recently developed in the Erlangen Institute of Biomaterials [1,2]. The fabricated films and electrospun fibers will be investigated regarding their morphology, surface chemistry, wettability, release profile, antioxidant and antibacterial activity.
