Development of tissue engineering scaffolds by melt electrowriting method

Professor Immich Boemo is visiting the Intitute of Biomateriais at FAU Erlangen-Nuremberg in the framework of CAPES/Probral-DAAD Program, an initiative dedicated to strengthening collaboration between universities and fostering scientific integration between Brazil and Germany. This visit aims to reinforce institutional partnerships and promote the exchange of knowledge and innovation for the advancement of science with focus on scaffolds for tissue engineering.

Our project in collaboration with Federal University of Santa Catarina (UFSC) is related to the development of processing technologies for manufacturing tissue engineering scaffolds. In this particular visit, Prof. Immich Boemo is exploring the fabrication of 3D scaffolds by Melt Electrowritting (MEW), a technique available in our Institute, for applications in skin tissue engineering.
