Nowadays, biodegradable polymer blends are attracting the scientist’s attention due to their biocompatibility and eco-friendliness which allow them to be implanted into the human body  without causing   harm. Among  these biodegradable polymers, polyhydroxybutyrate (PHB), has become a focal point of research due its biodegradable and biocompatible attributes. In this research study a series of PHB/PCL blends will be prepared both in absence and in presence of hydroxyapatite nanoparticles, and the electrospinning technique will be optimised to prepare defect free nanofibrous membranes. Finally, the prepared membranes will be subjected to different characterization studies, including degradation behaviour and bioactivity, to evaluate their potential applications in bone tissue engineering.
