Biological implication of the biomedical materials

It is important to design biomedical materials that can meet the mechanical as well as biological properties of the human organ/part to be replaced. Accordingly, in the current project, microbiology, molecular biology, cell viability, and in-vivo characterization of various orthopedic, dental and skin implants will be conducted [1,2].

In the current stay at the Institute of Biomaterials the particular focus will be to investigate the cell response to mesoporous bioactive glass nanoparticle based composites fabricated via electrophoretic deposition (EPD), 3-D printing, electrospinning, and centrifugal spinning. This research work will be conducted in the frame work of a current British Council funded project in which also Prof. Ipsita Roy, University of Sheffield, is an academic partner.
