Biofabrication using Methylcellulose Based Bioink

Biofabrication is a widely used tissue engineering technique which allows pre-defined deposition of cell containing hydrogels (bioinks). Combination of materials like oxidized alginate (ADA) and gelatin could be used for bioinks due to suitable properties for cell growth [1]. However, further developments of bioinks is required to print complex 3D structures. In this work, the use of methylcellulose to improve the printability of ADA-gelatin bioink will be evaluated to achieve robust 3D robust constructs for biofabrication [2] The scope of the project includes hydrogel characterization as well as cell viability studies of the created 3D structures.
