Fabrication of Amorphous Calcium Phosphate reinforced bioink for bone tissue regeneration
Supervisor in Erlangen: Prof. Aldo R. Boccaccini
Supervisor in Riga: Prof. Janis Locs
This long-term training visit takes place in the framework of the EU Horizon 2020 Teaming Phase 2 funded project: “Baltic Biomaterials Centre of Excellence – BBCE” (GA No. 857287). Within the scope of the project, a composite bioink made up of gelatine, alginate, and amorphous calcium phosphate (ACP) will be developed and analysed. In addition to this, comprehensive characterisation of controlled crystallisation of ACP in the hydrogel system will be performed. The project is a collaboration between the Institute of Biomaterials at FAU (Prof. Aldo R. Boccaccini) and the Rudolfs Cimdins Riga Biomaterials Innovations and Development Centre, Riga Technical University, Latvia, led by Prof. Janis Locs.
